How to see the Doctor

Morning surgeries start at 08:30 and afternoon surgeries at 14:00.

Appointments can be made by starting an eConsult, booking at reception, calling the surgery on 01598 753226 or online.

Appointment are at ten minute intervals.

Our telephone system allows us to answer two calls at the same time as long as there is another receptionist available. If there is no answer we will get to your call as soon as possible or you can choose to call back later.

Generally our busiest times are from 8.00am to 12.00 noon, so if it is not urgent then please try calling outside these hours.

You will be encouraged to see your Named Accountable GP for ongoing treatment and continuity of care and appointments can be booked up to a month in ahead. Planning in advance will assist the surgery and ensure you get to see your GP at a time most convenient for you.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent cases will always be seen on the day. Emergencies and urgent cases are dealt with as soon as possible. Please be patient if this delays your appointment. These appointments will be with the duty GP and not necessarily your regular doctor.

We hold early morning clinics for those who are working or unable to get to the surgery during normal opening times, please enquire with us as to the availabilibty and times.

Cancellations

There are a lot of wasted appointments each year due to patients simply not attending. Therefore please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.

Practice Nurse

A nurse is also available every day from 16:30 for new patient checks, blood pressure monitoring and to triage any minor injuries.

Telephone Advice

Sometimes a telephone call will avoid the need for a consultation. If you wish to speak to a doctor, please ask the receptionist to request that the doctor calls you back. It would be helpful if you could indicate the degree of urgency.  Telephone call back requests made after 2pm will normally be dealt with the following day unless the request is urgent.
